Artist Statement
My artist statement will be on my involuntary painting, "Water Colors". I was walking in Gallup Park with my family and I noticed several people painting the nature. So I got my inspiration from them by taking nature pictures and making them look like an involuntary painting. Using some editing in Light room, I made the pictures like "Water Colors" look like a painter is painting them. For this specific painting I changed the brightness, contrast, and saturation to make this photo almost as a person painted this.
Hockney
Artist Statement
The first Hockney image, which is also my favorite is the "Block M". This was a Michigan sticker, found in my house. I like this one the most because it resembles something I love, The University of Michigan. The next image is, "The Trees". This image was taken in my backyard with these pink buds or leaves on the branches. From walking around, I've seen many trees that look like this and that is where I got my inspiration. The final image, "Stars" was taken in my basement bathroom, with the multi-color star tiles. Since I am stuck in quarantine, all my pictures we're inspired from inside or around my house.
